I also like the fact that HID's use less power but I wont break the law any more than I already do so I think I will be buying the Silver Star Ultras in a month or so.
How much were they AK, do you remember?

I think I just saw the Silverstar Ultras for $50 a pair at Pepboys. You can probably find them cheaper online.

I actually worried about being stopped by the cops because of my HIDs right after I installed them but I have passed so many cops now with them I figure as long as I'm not doing anything really stupid they'll leave me alone. Plus I doubt the cops carry a book telling what vehicles have factory HIDs and which don't.

FWIW, I switched back to the LR original bulbs from the Silverstars. I got sick of the Silverstars burning out every few months. I went through three sets in less than a year before I decided it just wasn't worth it. I don't know if others have had this problem as well but just wanted to give you a heads up in case you wanted to check it out.

My LX470 did not come with HID, and I installed a set of the Silverstar bulbs. I loved the performance of the bulb, but I too had issues with them burning out frequently and finally just went back to the standard halogen bulb.

If not forced to switch back to non-HID lights, I will stay with mine. They are brighter but not offensive to on coming drivers and much easier on my eyes.

I'm with Mike, I'll stick with my HIDs until forced to change.
