No worries. My mechanic even said he wasn't 100% that would solve the problem, but believed that the evidenced that he provided it seemed like a very educated conclusion. I am in my way to pick her up now. I'll keep everyone informed. Thank you very much for everyone's responses
Drove home no problems so far. But my mechanic is saying the read out from his scanner is getting an incomplete on my catalytic converter everything else is checking out. He put roughly a hundred miles on it trying to get it to reset and gave a print out (see image) on how to reset it. Could this be a sign my catalytic converter is going out and needs replaced?

The function of your catalytic converter is measured by the downstream O2 sensors. So, either could be bad , though the sensor would normally throw a code of it was bad. And the cat would normally rattle around in the housing of it was bad (but not always).
I once had clogged cats in another vehicle and figured it out by dropping the exhaust and letting it idle. Immediate improvement. My cats went bad in my Disco and I hollowed them out as aj experiment, but the sound was horrible so I replaced the y pipe.
But dang I'm not questioning that mechanic. Ever. Again!!!
I, too, would like to know how a Disco lasts 313k. Mine is at about 150k and I'm not convinced the engine will last another year. I mean miles, not kilometers, of course.
Your cat most likely is going bad if its the original unit. My '04 D2 (150k miles) and my D2 (210k miles) both need new cats and they rattle like crazy
Did your mechanic replace your MAF yet? I think I missed the post where it mentioned what the mechanic did to fix your transmission code.
MAF sensor replaced. No new codes and no "service engine soon" light. Running actually a lot better than before (in terms of accelerating as well as shifting). And no new code for the cat. Just an incomplete on the diagnostics for the catalytic. Going to drive her around a lot today because of circumstances, I'm hoping the the incomplete will disappear. I will keep everyone informed.
Check engine soon light came on roughly 70miles into my drive as I was nearing my mechanic. It's like she knew. Scanned. Catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Cool thing though my mechanic supplies a free rental service through enterprise. So I'm in a rental already for the day. Said it should be done in a few hours, but I had to go pick up my parents from the airport. Hopefully it will be done when I get back.
