Jeez, they have to be something very, very special even if they were gold you can buy a whole new race v8 for that money

you didn't read it: this is for the production rights to the heads and the technical drawings.
As a side comment: where can I buy these so called "race heads"? Dusty has informed me i may be in for a head service soon, so I may as well put on some rockin heads.

I believe Turners do gas flowed heads for the Rover V8's but there are others. If you want to 'zomp' up the performance you need to think about the bottom end, cams and enhanced oil pressure/flow and maybe upping the compression ratio a bit. As you probably already know there are many aspects to tuning and unless you culminate with the engine on a dyno you never know what's better or even worse and can waste lots of dosh just tampering with bits of the puzzle.

My doc keeps telling me I need my head servicing

I will search and learn. More than anything I want strength and reliability. And if I can flow a bit more at my high altitude, Yay.

just now got my heads from machine shop. I will be updating with more tech info on what I did. but a lot of the info and research came from same source as those heads.
though I wanted some reliability so not over the top....most of my upgrades would only be considered stage 3 ..... not a race rv8
