High RPMs...?
Guys, I gotta tell you all how psyched I am!I just got my Haynes Automotive Manual for LR Discoveries. Now, I know I could get all my info from this site, but it's nice to have a book in front of you. And so now the work can begin.
Question:
I'm curious as to the average RPMs you guys are getting with just regular over the road driving. I'm getting 2200 to 2500+ RPMs at around 50-70mph. Is that high/average/low? I know my 6cy In-Line Cherokee never pushed that hard unless I was climbing something or gettin on the accelorator. Thanks for the input...

RE: High RPMs...?
Probably about right. My 5spd V8 disco runs around 2400 rpm @ 70mph, ~2700rpm @ 80mph & right @3000rpm to do just under 90mph (about 89mph). (In 5th gear). British drivers in general are used to running their cars at higher rpms due to typically having smaller engines. The Disco is probably a bit heavier than a Cherokee also? Due to the thick steel frame. Not sure if the auto has an overdrive or not?
