Higher temps after new radiator, water pump etc
I just changed the radiator, water pump, fan and clutch, thermostat, expansion tank, all hoses and the temp sensor and now it’s running hotter than it used to? I bled the system twice and I’m still getting a reading of 210 before I shut the truck off..used to get 201.2 to 204 absolute hottest..I used a laser to measure the temperatures of the hoses and the upper are about 150 the lower radiator to thermostat hose is 110…I don’t get it? I’m going to try to bleed again but any advice? Thank you!!

It really makes a ton of sense to just get the inline thermostat. as finicky as these trucks are, it add an additional avenue to trouble shoot as well as manage temperatures more accurately. just return what you bought and get the inline. If you doing the work its crazy to not go the extra inch and make your life easier.
Those non OEM Black 180F thermostats are not true 180F thermostats! You will need to look up inside of it for the temp rating, but only the black Britpart ones about 8 years ago were any good. After that they changed distributors and they're all the OEM temp range. The only OEM style thermostat to trust is the OEM Grey 180F, but I haven't seen an official OEM Grey 180F for sale in years. The Ebay units = in brown boxes with LR stickers = FAKE. It must be in a white box, and the body of the thermostat MUST be grey. Black, white, tan colored bodies = NOT 180F genuine OEM thermostats. Get the inline kit or verify the temp rating.

I did..so if I have silicone hoses can I just cut the upper hoses to put the inline thermostat from intake to radiator
