It's because our old Homelink won't work with modern openers.
You and buy the below from Chamberlin and mount it on your wall and hook it to the opener control.
Or do what I did and buy a cheap remote off eBay and hang it on my visor.

I am guessing my homelink must have changed out to a newer one and that is why I have not experienced this issue.

 

must be BC mine won't learn the new varying code ones. I think it's just old technology and new technology not meshing

 

I've not been able to get our home link to work with either the Disco or the boss's RRS since we got a new hot rod opener. I kinda gave up, but might try again.
