Any reason you opted out of having the foglamps installed in the bumper?

 

What is the height of the bumper itself? (Measurement from top edge of the bumper to the bottom edge of the metal in the front) How are the tow points attached to the bumper (reinforced backing plates or attached back to the frame rails or what?) Any idea if they would make the bumper a little deeper, so a custom brush bar/bull bar could be added? Or maybe set a winch down between the frame rails up front?

Fog lights on my 2000 model are really big, rectangle and installed in the factory bumper at an odd angle. (Completely different than the 2003-2004 Models)
Did not see any way to make them work and not get laughed at!

I have started looking around for some aftermarket or junkyard units that will look good installed. Open for suggestions......

 

8" Heavy Channel Iron, Tow points extend back to frame rails and bolted to frame at the stock mounting holes.

They have constructed a jig for this bumper to reduce cost/fab time, custom mods will increase your cost.

My Bull Bar will fit on there with only slight modification. I might put it back on, cause without it my cool 7" HID lights are no more!

Looks like there is plenty of room behind the bumper for a winch.

 

go on ebay they have to have a couple hundred thousand fog/driving light for sale, your right the stock 99-02 light just wont look right

Looks well built and solid but doesn't offer enough clearance for wheeling rock and harder trails where every inch of clearance helps. A slimline style bumper gives that extra clearance that comes in handy at crucial times.

 

Just found this post and read it all. Very cool to see other people with Disco's right in my area. I really like the bumper but wish it was about 5-6 inches wide with this idea I may have to check on making me one for my 1999 Disco 1. Thanks for the info guys and Hello to you close by.
