Homemade center differential lock linkage
You're welcome, I was originally going to buy the aftermarket kit and had also kicked around the idea of taking the linkage and shifter from a junker and installing that: The things that stopped me was: The amount of Work required to get a different shifter in there Concern about breaking pieces that have been stuck on there for 20 years. Unlike the pretty woman in the lucky 8 aftermarket shifter installation video: I couldn't even get the shift **** off without fear of breaking it. As a matter of fact that's as far as I got: I started with the shift **** and ended with the shift ****! I didn't want to have to be running around getting other parts To replace the ones that were broken during disassembly. I figured the shifter swap realistically would take me about two days allowing for Lunch breaks and naps (I'm 60) So I just drilled a hole and welded some stuff together! If I was going to do it again, I would: Drill the hole up higher To make it easier to reach from the driver's seat, One of the reasons I drilled the hole where I did was: I was sure there were no wires or cables right there. I Glad this is helping so many people!
