That is the "T" that is normally placed in the heater hoses to do the flush. My dad got where that was one of the first things he added to any vehicle we every purchased. I have a couple of those kits, less the "T" laying around the garage.

In regard to the radiator, I was hoping you would provide more information on that sparkling new radiator, that is why I posed the question. Thanks for the information. I have added the 180 t-stat, new reservoir cap, hoses, water pump and HG job in the past 2 yrs and my temps are 194-196 on hwy, and 198-203 in slow driving, so not bad. I am thinking I may need to get a new radiator sometime soon with the miles on my D2 to get any better temps since I have performed a flush already. So good information. THANKS

Transmission and oil coolers are held from the cavity walls in its original position, the radiator is fully independent from any attachments to anything and can come out by itself (if I ever need to); it is cushioned by these:

Also held from existing body holes.
Vehicle is "spitting ice cubes through the tail pipe" at any hot weather or traffic condition. Temperature is ~174F at 81F ambient. Am happy.
Did you use the cushioned mounts top and bottom?

Tony: The bottom is cushioned on plain hard sponge as the used on kids play floors.
The rubber supports are on the sides, not symmetrical, held with bent flat bars.
The two top edges have channeled rubber weatherstrips canibalized from a Subaru hatch door.
