Question Hood won't close completely

I think my Disco has been in an accident. I say that because when I first purchased it, I went to fix an ABS issue and found over 50% of the fuses in the fusebox were the wrong amps for their respective location, and some relays were just missing.

Anyway, my issue is that the hood won't close completely. Looking at the post with the spring on it, it looks to be hitting the center of the hole, and the hood release seems to work also.

I don't see any shiny spots under the hood where something might have been rubbing, so I have no idea why it won't close all of the way.

Do I have any options?

Thanks,
John

Have you lubed the latch?
Is it sitting true on the fenders?
Does the paint on the inside of the hood match the rest of the truck?

You can adjust the hood latch also the 2 rubber stoppers on the hood may be adjustable.

Look at the paint around the bolt heads on the hood hinges, you can see where the original bolts sat, maybe it needs a bit of adjustment.

So, it looks like I'm a complete idiot. I was looking at the latch on the hood which didn't look that adjustable.

When I went to try and lube the cable, I finally noticed the two bolts holding the latch mechanism on the body and there's a good amount of adjustment available there.

Thanks.

Just be a bit careful when you adjust them because if they are not exactly right you can get the hood stuck in the latch, so don't torque down the bolts completely until you get it adjusted right.
