00 Disco II Tail latch pulled up, rear won't close
So I did something bad. My rear tail wasn't latching and the handle was jammed. So I was pulling on the lower tail gate latch checking it and started forcing the latch up. It felt like it went almost in a complete circle and now the latch is locked, it won't turn up or down anymore, so my back door won't latch at all, in fact the latch is whats blocking me from even fully closing the door. Please help.
Anyone? The latch is in latched position with the door open. I lock, unlock, pull the handle, no difference. Is there a fix to pull that latch back down in unlatched open position... Or does the assembly need replaced?
Pull up on the handle and then using a screw driver move the latch down.
Then lube the latch and remove the Land Rover emblem from the door and lube the handle.
All latches, hinges and key holds need to be lubed at least every 6 months.
If it moves it needs lube.
Silicon spray works best.
