Default Horn beep when locking/unlocking?

Can I make this happen? Couldnt find anything in the owners manual or in the search feature.

Are there any hidden features also?

See RAVE shop manual, starting on about page 1298 of 1529. BCU programs can be altered.

No option for horn beeping when unlocking. The only option is to beep the horn on mislock, when you try to lock the doors, but one of them is open.

But who needs the horn to beep? I can hear the door lock actuators from across town.

Yeah I can hear them also but I was curious.
Apparently you can make the alarm chirp when locking and/or horn beep.

you can always leave a door open and then lock it, then it beeps!

I don't think so. I've never seen any options for making the horn beep when locking the doors, and I don't see it in RAVE. I could be wrong... if you find the option, let me know what it's called and I'll test it on mine.

So.... attach a relay to same connection as lock motors, and it should energize for the pulse of the lock motor. Wire contacts to horn. It would be the pink/red wire and pink/purple wire. Pink and gray are superlock. IMHO while in there you may as well snip that rascal, so you can prevent superlock from engaging. Now if you include a diode in series with relay coil, you can make it energize only on lock or only on unlock, polarity is reversed to make lock motor run other direction. Don't forget to use fuses.

Might be a longer horn beep than you like, there are relay/timer boards that can provide a short duration output.

Something to consider if you have close by neighbors.

I HATE cars that honk at me when their owners lock or unlock the doors. But what I've really come to hate is the newer GM vehicles that turn on the reverse lights when they unlock the doors. I never know if a car in the parking lot is trying to back out or not. My new rule is to never be polite to GM owners. They can back out after I'm done driving past them.

OK, so attach the wacky horn sound board for yoddeling, etc Maybe not. Maybe a clip of that attention getting sound in a dark building - the distinctive sound of a 12 gauge round being chambered in a pump shotgun....
