My plastic cap to my horn fell off, and with it the spring underneath it that makes it work. I found the cap, but no spring. Now I cant use the horn on one side of the wheel.
Where on earth can I get this spring that goes under the horn button? Such a small thing that makes a big difference to the driver.
You'll probably have your best luck finding one at a salvage yard. I had the same thing happen to me....I just put the cap back on and have learned to honk the horn with my left thumb only
ugh, when I sell this thing I'd hate to have the little spring under the horn be an issue wiht a future buyer. Do LR dealers or anyone else have an idea where to get one freakin little spring for the horn? Right now I stuffed it with ductape so I dont have to disable the horn, otherwise it goes wild. The plastic doesnt seem to stay on by itself...
....SOOOO, like I said, go to the salvage yard. Or find someone parting out, or go somewhere that they sell springs, and find one that will fit in the button, cut to size, and BOOM!...or in this case BEEP!
^^^ Any of these options will cost you much less than $95 ^^^
Given this is from 2011, I’m sure you’ve found your springs. For this who search google and land here, there’s a really cheap solution to this.
I bought a non running 04 disco HSE from a guy in town for $500. BCM was locked, and of course the truck had sat for years so I’ve been going through and fixing the slew of other age related issues on my own. Horn buttons were depressed, fuse removed because horn stayed on and after one look I realized they just didn’t have any springs in them. After reading this thread, and searching the Internet for other options. I came across these from Home Depot ($5 for the pack). The spring I used is 1 inch in length and .5 in diameter. I cut two coils off and it fits perfectly.
Hope this helps anyone still on the hunt
Funny this was nearly me recently. Horn button popped out. Went to put it back together and could not find the spring. Started to look for replacement ones and didn't want to buy the LR assembly.
Found the spring. But good to know hardware stores are an option.

hello friend, perfect I'm going through the same thing my question is did you cut the spring in half or did you use it completely, mine does not have either of the two to know the approximate measure that I need
