Question How $$$ for a Used T-Case????

QUESTION : How much would you pay for a T-Case out of a '99 (108,XXX miles), consider it in "good" shape.

REASON : I am looking at swapping out my T-Case so I can have CDL like the other kids, and I found one locally that I would have to remove myself and the guy wants an offer, so I wanted some opinions from you, the experts of LRF.

Thanks in advance.

I found one at a salvage lot using www.car-part.com out of an 04. It was $250. I asked them to sell me the shifter and cables too. They wanted $50. $100 to ship it. $400 later and I would have had a CDL. They called me and told me that they cut the cables when removing it. I was quoted $300 for just one cable at the closest dealer, so I just cancelled the order until I can find one a little closer, or until I can afford some other way to active the CDL. (those 04 shifters are HIGH dollar)

Yes they both will have to remove their transfer cases (or at least the front part of the case). One has a 2002, and the other a 2003. Neither case is going to have the lever on the case to connect with a CDL shifter.

Or, just buy an Ashcroft CDL unit from Toddco and install it on your current case that you know is good.

You don't have to remove your current transfer case.. just install the cdl on the front. Takes about an hour if you know what you're doing.. 2-3 if you don't.

So 3-4 for me

Interesting...I thought I had heard of another option besides a swap (for 2002-2003) but couldn't find any info while browsing the internets. Thanks for the info...how much are you wanting for that whole kit and kaboodle?....and does it come with the book "Disco CDL install for Dummies?"

I just realised I misread what you had. I missed a few words like "housing" and "gearset". I thought you were talking about just the shifter assembly. I should know better than to read so quickly.
