Holy hell I feel like I just got hosed. Total when I get to his office is $568.

282 bucks for the muffler itself, 40 for hardware, 200 for labor. wtf? I dont' feel like arguing so I pay. Then he tacks a $22 'non-cash charge' on top of it! I'm thinking of calling my bank and having this stopped, just for the $22 charge that's not on the invoice.

Holy moly. $282 for what kind of Muffler? I am in Chicago and I didn't pay near that for my Borla. The stock replacement was a bit more.

Maybe just don't go back.

Yea, just gonna tell myself that he used all genuine land rover parts, that it was actually a very long process to get the rusted bits out, and that while way more expensive than I anticipated, not a complete rip-off. Ignorance is bliss!

When they work on higher end cars, often there is a warranty, and the cost is sort of just accepted. That may mean better work, may not. But if it is fixed properly or they back the work, you may come out ahead anyway.
