I got a seat base on e-bay for under $100. Make sure it comes with 3 motors and wiring harness. You have to take out the seat, remove the upholstery and cushion from the base, unscrew the backrest from the seat base and then reassemble all again with the new base. Not difficult, it can be done in a few hours.

still shocked it was that easy, plus I needed a new window button frame either way.

your activating a part that's been dormant for 20 years.

 

Ha, well it worked... but yes I’ll monitor for smell of smoke and pick up an extinguisher for my rig. Lol

I'm glad you got your heated seats sorted.

 

I added the heated seat switches in my Disco a year after I got it - driver side was a dud, passenger worked great. After 4 years, I just pulled the seat and found a nice burn mark under the leather on the lower seat - cleaned and soldered the wires back together and I'm good to go this winter
