Default How do I get this switch?

I'm going to wire my off road lights into the already existing switch slots on the instrument console using this method: http://www.houstonlandroverclub.com/...es_relays.html I already have an extra cruise control switch to use but need the switch cover.

Problem is, I don't know what to ask for at the dealer for the number 2 light swtich. Other then the one pictured in the aforementioned article I have never seen one. Is this the switch that would come with a Disco with factory mounted off road lights?

I'm in just about the same position you are in. I'm planning the install of a rear work light on the SD rack. Assuming shipping isn't too crazy from RoversNorth (over $12) I'll get the c/c switch from them It's listed at $11, EE wants $27 for it (plus I'd have to pay CA sales tax). There are 2 versions of that 2 aux face cover. Note the position of the light in each of the #2 face covers.

Urban Panzer has a excellent right up on how to do this.
Print that pic and take it to the dealer, they will know what it is called.

Agreed, the dealer should know by the picture exactly what part # that is.
Just like when you order a cheese burger at Mickey D's, they push the picture and the "chefs" know exactly what to microwave!

Sorry.... Auxillary lights make me hungry......

Never assume the dealer knows anything. Most people at parts counters, including dealers, couldn't identify themselves if you showed them a picture of themselves.

The switches are called "auxillary" lamp switches.

The picture that Disco2Guy posted shows both that are available,
How ever the "facelift" switch (on the right) is BLACK in colour and more expensive,

the left hand one is for pre-facelift Disco's as its the correct ASHGREY colour to suit the dash,
and its only about $10 (ish)

I Now have 2 in mine, 1 controls the front spots, the other the roof rack lights.

Part number for PRE-facelift D2's STC50039

I used a D1 Fog switch and 3 switch carrier assyfor the rear work Lamp on the SD rack, 2 blanks just ready for something else..........mmmmmmm...................

haha ok you're right. So i'll re-phrase that. If you can find someone at a dealership who knows anything about anything. Ask them if they by any chance have it in stock. If your dealership is run by morons. Run. Fast.

Also, if you do end up ordering them, EE is much more expensive, so if you can find them cheaper go with that.
