Default How do i go about installing puddle lights on my 2003 disco?

I was thinking somehow connecting the puddle lights to the front dome light so when the dome light turns on the puddle lights will as well. I am not sure how to connect them though, any advice with the dome light switch to the door or how to wire it in general would help a ton, thanks.

Check the wiring diagram in RAVE so you can tap to the nearest wires. Easy way is to go through the front dome light and tuck the wire around the headliners edge. You can also grab some small LED lights or strip from Advance or Autozone. They are cheap and easy to do projects.

What are puddle lights? Especially in a DII?

I'm guessing lights that come on under the truck showing the ground when you get out, in the dark. Linked to the interior courtesy lights.

Neat idea.

That is not a bad idea, I was also thinking about going through the switch telling the door is open or close, except when the door is shut I get 12V and when the door is open I get 1V. If that was reversed it would work perfectly. I was also thinking about buying LEDs and putting them in my dome lights.

They are pretty much a light that shines down on the ground from the door, they are actually pretty cool, mine display a Land Rover logo.

Did you ever sort this out? I'd like to do the same on my '03 Disco.

Mount them under your running boards, wire them so they come on when the door opens.
