Default How long is normal for the oil light to stay on after cold start?

2001 Discovery with 197k miles
I replaced the oil pump about 65k miles ago
The last oil change was about 2500 miles ago with Shell Rotella 15W40 & WIX Filter

When the Discovery has been sitting, the oil light stays on for about 2.5 seconds after cold start. I don't remember it ever staying on that long, it used to go out immediately.
There are no other symptoms, ambient air temperature doesn't seem to make a difference.
The light does not come back on or flicker/blink.

I just noticed this the other day and haven't had a chance to check the PSI or change the oil/filter.
How long do oil pumps usually last?
Is 2.5 seconds indicative of some sort of problem, or normal for the mileage?

2.5 seconds seems long but is probably OK (especially with modern engine oils). But for what it's worth I have the same oil, filter, and mileage and my oil light goes out right away, faster than my more modern vehicles actually. I would keep an eye on it though, like everything else with a D2

This is not normal. Doesn't necessarily mean it's something catastrophic, it's just not supposed to be on that long. It should go out right away.

Agree, mine goes out immediately. Maybe takes 1-2 sec after an oil change if that. Time to plumb in an oil pressure gauge.
