The most important thing to keep lubed there is the pin with the catch strap at the bottom of the door... And of course the inner part of the handle. I haven't needed to lube the actual hinges...

I am partial to Maxima chain wax because it goes on very thin and migrates in all the little cracks and then after a few minutes the solvent flashes off and it dries completely non tacky so that if you accidentally touch it later it doesn't get on you and it won't attract dust and dirt

I use boeshield T-9 on the rear door hinges (and all the hinges)

Amazon Amazon

Highly highly recommend. You can read about it. I spray on the rear hinge with it open with a microfiber behind it, open and close a few times, repeat 2x. Seems to work well.

BTW I found out about this stuff at recommendation of pebble beach concours judge re: vintage aluminum bodied cars (literally)

I use T-9 too. Been using it for years as bicycle chain lube and then on cars and motorcycles and around the house.
