Of course. All my vehicles have names, based on their personalities and/or colour. First D2 (black) was named Jasper; second (blue) was Lapis.
The current D2 is named Fenton, just because this amused my wife:

My family has 4 rovers and 1 volvo. We have had different themes from the color, model, Star Wars, and most recently Wizard of Oz:
Tan D2 (2000, unfortunately no longer on the roads as of 2022). Known as: Tan Car, The D2 (Now referred to as the Old D2), C-3PO, and unfortunately was gone by the time we switched to the Wizard of Oz theme.
Blue LR3 (2005). Known as: The Blue Car, Luke Skywalker, LR3 (back when we only had one), and it's current name: Dorothy.
Silver LR3 (2005) Known as: The Silver Car, (wasn't around for Star Wars theme), and it's current name: Tin Man.
White LR4 (2016). Known as: The White Car, LR4, Storm Trooper, and it's current name: Glinda the Good Witch.
Black D2 (2002). Newest to the fleet known as: The D2, and it's current name: Wicked Witch. Although we usually just call it Wicked.
Black Volvo C70 (2012). Known as: Black Car, The Volvo, Darth Vader, and it's current name: Toto.
Red/Ruby Volvo (196*) Known as: Ruby, or the Old Volvo. It's currently referred to as Ruby.
We refer to the name of the cars more than the model in conversations within and outside of the family. We even have the names of the vehicles on the back of the keys so we know which goes to what.

You know it's Glinda in the books/movie, right?
Mollusc, that video is awesome. Holy crap, I almost spit out my beer. That said, I never name any of my vehicles. Except for the '99 I got from Nadeen. that's of course called Nadeen. I use names like "the 04" or "the 03", or the "03 from South Jersey", or "MIchele's old truck", or "the oughty-ought from Delaware", or the "Allentown '01". I've never named a single one of my other cars, they all came with numbers from the factory so that's what I go by. (Somewhat) interestingly, the Discovery was the first vehicle I've ever owned that came with a name. Everything else has been a number or a letter/number. IE 2002, 510, 535, GT6, 240Z, 528, M5, R17, 325iX, and so on. You could make the argument that the Bavaria had a name from the factory and that is true, however it was only called the Bavaria in the US. The rest of the world called them the 3.0S so I'm sticking with my story. Out of well over 50 cars, the Disco was the only one that had a name.
Victoria is the only name l've given a vehicle. 2001 Dll and current Defender have shared it.
Other than reference to their age and color...(if it's just a daily driver, they don't get named at all)
78 - red porsche...Old Red
84 - black porsche...Old Blacky
03 - silver Dll...Old Silver
03 - grey Dll...Old Grey
04 - white Dll...Old Whitey

I don't usually name them until they show their true colors lol. However my 97 XD (the first one I bought) is nicknamed "Rusty but Trusty". It is mechanically super reliable, and it's taken me all over the place on great adventures and wheeling trips. Then the 99 D2 I had was flawless during Hurricane Harvey and it was the only vehicle that got in/out of my neighborhood safely without any damage. It's nickname was "Old Faithful". My second XD so far known as "2.0" which works lol. My 06 Range Rover Sport seems to constantly want to seep coolant from somewhere. New radiator, new T stat assembly, new water pump, and new lines = still seeps so it's nickname is "Dribbles" lol. I'm going to swap out the water pump for a better unit and see if that solves the Dribbles, but until then that nickname is staying lol.
