$65,000 USD or maybe 50,000 Euros.

A Prius may get 45 average MPG.
1444 gallons.

gas $5,400 USD.

That is 1/3 the cost of the gas for the rover.
Savings: $10,000.

In Europe, that type of savings will PAY for the PRIUS.

Yeah yeah, it is not a Rover.

If I back into a Prius I can know that the rover will get $50 damage
the Prius $7,000.

But......... in Canada and Europe (in fact anywhere except the US) you can get a diesel DII with a manual trans. Only the conspicuously wealthy opt for the V8 and auto gearbox.
