Default How much is too much for a used Kalahari Saudi Grill

Given the rarity of these grills what is the “stupid money” level? The value of something is defined by what two people are willing pay for it, but does this grill have any real eyeball appeal to you? Does it really make a difference in cooling ability? I know there are writeups about how to make your own version of this grill so I know there is an appeal for the grill just not the stomach for the cost. There was one on eBay today for $750.00. Used. I bought a parts truck DII for $850 because it had $850 worth of used parts I needed and would have bought on eBay, so Essentially i got the remainder of the truck for free. But still, that was an entire truck. This is a center grill for almost the same price.

The Saudi Grill was on Special Edition's aka the Kalahari which was produced in very limited numbers. Yes it was better at cooling vs the stock grill (3-5F cooler from what I saw when I had it installed). They will fetch a pretty penny for those looking to buy one to either restore their Special Edition LR or to just be unique.

I removed the Saudi Grill from my 02 Kalahari because with the TF front bumper I'd have had to chop nearly 1.5inches off the bottom of it and although my Saudi Grill isn't perfect I just couldn't butcher it. The 03-04 Grill is perfect for the TF front bumper so I went with that instead

You can make a 99-02 Saudi looking Grill yourself without to much trouble, just depends on how good you are at modifying stuff because I've seen some poor attempts and I've seen some really good attempts.

It took me half a year to sell a NoS saudi grille for $300. It still had the protective plastic tape on it...

I've thought about making one myself with this stuff (the good stuff): https://www.mcmaster.com/#wire-cloth/=1djx41q

But I have the TF winch bumper as well, and the original grille is better for cutting up to fit a winch

03-04 Grill and the TF is a great combo. Makes it to where all you have to do is cut out two small notches 1/4 tall x 1inch wide & a Warn M8000 fits totally hidden. On the M8000 you can rotate the brake assembly & get the engage/disenage handle right where you need it.

I saved my Saudi Grill & I honestly have always preferred the 03-04 as they aren’t nearly as brittle vs 94-02 grills & I think they look better even without 03-04 headlights.
