Default How To Properly Tune The Disco 2

After 10 months of waiting, my Disco is on the road. I’m kind of OCD so when I drive it I hear everything little sound and attribute it to something or another. Is it idling rough? What’s that squeak? Is that rumbling noise normal?

i think we that if I can understand the parameters in which this thing should be running, I can focus on tweaking real issues rather than chasing ghost sounds from a 15 year old truck. I’m holding off on any aesthetic upgrades until I can be sure the truck is running optimally.

So I am looking for advice on the following:
  1. What are the key engine performance metrics of a 2004 D2 and their normal operating ranges?
  2. Whats the best way to measure their levels?
  3. I have OBD fusion (see attached report). Is this tool sufficient to measure these items?
Obviously I know about coolant temp and oil pressure. I am more interested in understanding how effective my engine (fuel, spark, combustion and exhaust) are performing and getting/keeping those metrics in line.

Thoughts and comments welcome!
