So I did this but didn't do black. I used tan camo plastidip. I think I used about 6 whole cans on the headliner. Seemed like the camo didn't cover as well. By the way I bought a 6 pack of the color on Amazon for a lot cheaper then getting them one at a time.

Just did this yesterday and it literally took me the ENTIRE day to complete the job by myself. Looks much better than it did before. Just wondering: how long does it take for the paint smell to go away? It was pretty strong yesterday; today its tolerable.

Why many suggest using latex house paint. Works good and no chance of chemical reaction to/with substrate. Usually less expensive too.

...because it's usually what you have laying around, at least it was my case; and the odor goes away! ;-]#

You can purchase a new can have it color matched if not too tight.

...true that! ...although might not always be "a being too tight" issue, might also be that just decided to jump in the project, and not wanting to go out and buy the right stuff, but using whatever resources you had at hand, either way gets the job done; one with "odor" and waiting time, the other "odorless" and less waiting time. In my case. I was lucky to have a color that contrasts nicely with the interior of my D2, plus makes me feel at home, or viceversa! ;-]#

Here's the paint formula I used for my '99 Bahama Beige interior headliner six years ago. I still love it.
