In addition to not needing to remove the A/C compressor, there's no mention of disconnecting the coolant lines from the throttle body heater.

Otherwise, that's a great write up, kudos!

I think it depend if you are removing it from the compartment or not, if not remove the ten intake bolts and just slide it the side.

With those nylon lines being as brittle as they are after 11 - 16 years, that might not be the way to go.

I didn't remove the compressor i set it aside, it makes things much easier. is just four bolts and a connector, then i placed it inside the air filter box. I was also changing the cooling hoses that go to the throttle plate and setting the compressor aside makes the whole things easier. There is no need to suck out the freon or anything.

I didn't remove the compressor, I just removed the four bolts and placed it aside, inside the air cleaner housing. It doesn't need to come off but for a couple of minutes and a lot more room its worth it

#4 cylinder isn't firing for me. Changing the coil packs and plugs soon and hoping that will fix the problem. Thank you for this info!

Well, I tackled this last night and finished up today. I was indeed able to replace both coil packs without removing the Intake Manifold. Only required a small 8mm combination wrench and contorting my hands a bit. Don’t be scared to try it first. So glad I didn’t have to tear the top end apart.

Tried to get you guys a picture to show you I actually did get them out. Those are the new coil packs waiting to go in. I broke The plastic fitting on the pvc breather on the intake manifold while I was moving my arm around trying to get in there. Easy fix.

In this video Doug from Atlantic British shows a pretty good way to get the ignition coils back on (with the upper intake manifold off):

In Part 1 of the head gasket videos I think he takes it off too.
