How to: Seafoam Induction Procedure
I don't know why I thought that was so funny, but I almost spit my coffee all over my screen when I read it.
A quick question. Might do this tomorrow, and I'm curious, do I need to change my oil after? I just changed it, so I'd hate to have to change it again when its brand new oil.
edit: Also, what are the odds this will have a NEGATIVE effect? And if something were to go wrong, whats most likey?

Leave oil filter alone. You can put this stuff in the oil to solvent sludge, but there are other products for that. Sucked into the induction system by vacuum it solvents gunk on the inside of the mainifold to the valves. Read label, you only need like 5 ounces or so for a full treatment. Let it sit (to solvent) then crank up, outside the garage. Makes cloud of oil smoke out the exhaust for a few minutes.
Done by the book it is pretty harmless. Some say truck runs better. Other say it is snake oil. I say it is fun to do, kills skeeterz.

rest of the can, it is like many of the fuel "cleaners" in that it solvents some varnish. This was more of a problem in days of olde, when the carbs kept a modest quantity of fuel in the carb "bowl" - which allowed it to get "cooked" off from engine heat and form a varnish. The varnish changed the dimesions of small orifices in the carb and could impact performance quite a bit.
The MSDS sheet shows the elixer to be pale oil 40-60%, Naptha 25-35%, and IPA 10-20% (alcohol). The naptha and alcohol do the cleaning, the thin oil is a carrier and burns off. Pix of a PCV part treated with the magic brew. BTW, plenty of PCV pathways on Discos that could use a good clean out, including the throttle body side. Carb cleaner works for that as well.
