How to Smoke test for Vacuum leaks with a Cigar
#22
I see that Jared has left. I would like to perform this test as I have P1174, P1171, P1412 and P1415 codes registering. Does anyone else have a step by step on the "Cigar Leak Test". Jared, not sure why you deleted but would you or someone else mind helping me out on this. Thank you in advance!

I havent done this myself, but I believe you pull the vac line off of the break booster and plug the line, un bolt your air box intake and wrap a latex glove over your maf sensor (to create a seal), then you pull the large vacuum line off the top of your of your intake manifold, attach your own long rubber hose to the now open port on your intake manifold, then blow smoke in the hose and look for air leaks. Of coarse fire up the engine and ram your foot to the floor and she'll eat the smoke. Just kidding...
I think thats all there is to it
