Default Hub center cap for steel wheels

There has to some alternative to the official LR center cap. Something that just covers the hub that can be painted black and will keep the spindle and nut from corroding. A dust cap would be great but they tend to run pretty small. I was hoping to use the bottom of a beer can but that’s way too small.... maybe I’ll get some Foster’s. Somebody must have found something. Inner diameter of the hub is 2.35”, outer is 2.75”

I honestly had an idea, but I ditched the steel wheels. I had a set of Alcoa center caps from some wheels that should have worked, but I gave them to a friend. Once the wheels were sold I didn’t bother to ask if they worked on a LR or not.

I'd just get a measurement of the ID of the disc and goto an auto parts store and match something up. I'm in the same boat, been wanting to do something like this for a while -- there's gotta be something from an old muscle car that would work

FYI you're supposed to stake that axle nut by locking it into that groove with a chisel/punch. It does not appear that yours is staked.

Very observant, yeah I haven’t staked it yet. Although I don’t think that thing is going anywhere

I took a hub to Napa and fit up a dust / grease cap that worked good. They are just loose enough in the hub to seal it with silicone and hold them on. It was a little big for one aftermarket hub so I had to grind that cap down some. All my other hubs are aftermarket too but I think I tried them on an old oem hub and it fit

Obviously had to paint the hub/rotor some to match the wheel and new cap
