Talking The hunt is on for an SD roof rack

Just found a SD roof rack for sale and Im going to make myself broke to try and get it before someone else grabs it! Have a appointment to meet the seller later this week. I wont disclose the location or how I found it but I will brag prematurely. Wish me luck everybody!

PS: The seller is even willing to help me install it!

Lucky bastard you are there mate! I wonder how you pulled that off!? Ive never seen a used rack going for under $650!

Either way the seller of the rack Im looking at said he would take $100 off and help me install the rack. Worth mentioning that I sold my ladder when I first got the truck cause I needed the cash at the time...... now regretting it. IF I get this rack, it will be interesting to see how on earth we pull off the installation. On a good note it does come with all the mounting hardware.

Bought mine on ebay for $500. Drove 4 hours to meet and pay, and we removed it from his D2 and installed on mine. It had 4 Hellas and a rear work light. He had removed the wiring but gave it to me which had the waterproof connectors near the lights, and wire down to where he had cut it from the relays under the hood. Bonus for me was that he had lost his job, and his D2 was going back to the bank. He asked if I wanted anything else. He had the factory LR black rubber mats, and he let me have them for $25. He had just touched up the rack with some paint. I sanded it here and there to cut some rust in a few spots that he had painted over and added some primer in those spots, then added a couple good coats of Professional grade Rustoleum and it looks pretty good. I have had it 2 years now, and still looking good. I just put the chicken coup flooring in this summer. Old pic from when I first got it. The light covers were crumbling plastic when you try to clean then, so I picked up a set of new light covers on Amazon.

So jealous of this rack thread. I need to get the garage height upgrade first. That could be a while.

Anyone know of any gutter brackets that are available separately? The Brownchurch rack on rovers north has brackets listed as a separate item, but no price for them. It would be prohibitive anyway. Emailed out of interest.

With my garage height restrictions I reckon I could fabricate something decent, and that would fit, if I could start from some existing solid brackets. Maybe gutter brackets of other vehicles?

I'm sure I saw a thread here somewhere of a dude making his own rack.

Need something like this
