The Gods Must be Crazy winching up a tree had crossed my mind. Harvey & Imelda the threat was flooding. Old Laura was high winds. We got good wind gust however it was coming out of the North which was good for the Rover Ranch & my inlaws place. Had it come out of one direction & then changed = trouble, but that didn't happen.

Poor Cameron, Vinton, Sulphur, and Lake Charles took the big blows from Laura which is only 45 miles away.

We just have 1,000,000,000 piles of tree branches, and leaves which is nothing compared to other folks. The power flickered all night but we never lost it.

If it was up to me I would move, but a bunker/ark sounds good to me! I really appreciate everyone checking in on me.

If anyone was affected by Laura & you need help please let me know! I have plenty of fuel, water, and food.

God Bless everyone!

Entergy has now turned everyone's power off. Even if you were not effected by the storm. I see what they're thinking, but at the same time had I told people I have power & say they needed it for health reasons then they'd have traveled for nothing..

This thread gave me flash-backs to three years ago. Rode out Irma & Maria - two cat 5's in two weeks. Lost part of the roof on the house in Maria but my LRD2 was fine, apart from all the vegetation wedged into every crevasse and seam. We were without power from September thru nearly February - 4 1/2 months!

Best wishes to all those affected by Laura. Just because you're no longer on the news doesn't mean the recovery is anywhere near complete. I know from experience. Stay strong and you'll get through this.

Hey Best, I didn't want to start a new thread for tropical storm Beta, but we all see that there's a lot of flooding in Houston today. How's it going at the Rover Ranch?
