Found these guys, the jeep guys like his work and what not, also seems as if its way cheaper than the 3k build your self kits.

 

What are the perceived advantages of the ram assisted steering compared to a conventional PAS arrangement?

 

I made about 3000 attempts to contact those guys...........months have passed.......no response

 

It looks like they're getting more power assist due to the ram piston surface area. Strikes me that you might also remove a mechanical linkage, which could prevent damage to said linkage during rough use(but don't quote me on that).

I guess then that it is only of value in moving very big, very heavy wheel/tyres in very sticky situations. If it was about accuracy, I could see a value in it but otherwise there's no gain for me

 

On the D2 on the drivers side there is a 'spare' unused link from the upright where they attach the drag link which for a RHD truck. The ram could be attached here as the most direct leverage rather than on the drag link which is more vulnerable to wear at the ball joint.
