You weren't pulling him out in reverse right?

Many years ago, we were on Golden Spike and somebody stuffed large rocks into the crack, I guess so his unlocked vehicle could make it over the obstacle (that's what spare tires are for, but that's another story).

So our group decided to pull the rocks out. A tow strap around the rocks connected to a CJ-7 and he tried to pull it out by backing up. He actually sheared the axle, as it was the weak point instead of the drive shaft. Not made to pull in reverse!

So we were down to just our jeep, which had a bad power steering pump (belt removed) and bad front u-joint (so we drove it mostly in 2WL until the larger obstacles. We went into town, got an axle, drove back to the crack in reverse, fixed the jeep, and made it home by 10pm.

Gold Bar Rim in the pitch darkness was an adrenaline rush for a young me who wasn't quite comfortable with heights...

Now should I go with the gay joke, or the over-used "that's what she said" joke? Decisions decisions......

Why isn't anyone angrily demanding that he install a ProShaft?

If you are looking for a heavy duty shaft, the TW at $388 is cheaper than the GBR. I think the prices one of the previous posts are for the reman units. You need to get it to Canada, correct? Is that where the extra cost is?

Shipping a propshaft to canada will likely add around $50+ to the purchase price.

Well why doesn't it just say that in the top right of your posts?

If you are going to make a habit of beating on your Rover you should invest in a better driveshaft now so you can tell us about your broken axles in your next post. The general consensus seems to be that TW and GBR driveshafts are worth the money if you regularly wheel your truck. For another $100 over a stock strength replacement you will be way ahead. Alternatively, you could get what you have repaired at a driveshaft shop but it will likey end up costing almost as much.
