Default I can’t get the brake lines off

So I am trying to install ss brake lines but I can’t get off the old ones. I have been soaking them with pb for the last day and a half now and no movement. How did y’all do it?

thanks

Edit: I was able to get the rear hoses off but I still can’t get the front ones

Especially if you’re trashing the old ones, a good vice grip sometimes works better than the correct wrench.

Ok thanks but aren’t the threads on the hard line and if I damage the nut I might not be able to get the new ones on?

Yep you need to be careful not to damage the hardline and nut. You can try some heat with a plumbers torch but beware of boiling break fluid we can crack it free. When I did my lines I wrecked my drivers front line. I had to buy the new line set from the abs module for about $80. That actually worked out because the small hoses on the drivers side going the to the rear where all frozen as well.

Ok thanks I got them loose now. Nuts are slightly damaged because I used vise grips but they are not too bad. Should I put the hoses on in a certain order? Like right rear then left rear then front right then front right? I am going to bleed the brakes after I do this anyway so does the order matter?

Remember the poor mans power bleed technique = 20ft of 2 conductor wire, a toggle switch, then stick the 2 wires into the front/rear slots for the ABS relay and it will power the ABS pump when you toggle the switch

Well I did it I completely stripped the threads on one of the small lines in the drivers side wheel well. I just want a car to drive. How can I fix this? I am getting really upset because every time I fix one thing it leads to 2 more things breaking.

if you don't already have one, get yourself a set of metric flare nut wrenches... vice grips compress the hollow nut and can ruin it...

I did same thing recently. Atlantic British sells the pipes with correct length and connectors on. Just hand bend by removing and copy the pipe. Bad part is you have to buy all 4 corners.
