Default I can not figure this noise out!

'03 ~50K

So... I have this strange noise coming from the drivers side pillar and I hear it through the seat-belt adjustment. It sounds like a vacuum leak and is only present under acceleration. Does not seem to be speed dependent, even hear it when accelerating from a stop and it quits as soon as I let off the accelerator and is back as soon as I'm back on. I can't find any loose hoses and why am I hearing it from up by the seat-belt? I'm totally bewildered on this one.

Thanks,
-T-

Is it possible you are hearing out of the speakers? Sometimes when you have a bad ground you will get a range of noises out of the sound system which do fluctuate with acceleration

No, I know exactly the sound you're talking about but it is def not the speakers. It's coming through the seat belt adjustment area.

It is your seat belt muffler, it is going bad and needs to be repalced.[8D]

Is it a consistent tone, or a sort of soft clicking sound? I had been hearing a sound from the same area on my '02, also during acceleration, before my accident. STILL don't have the truck back, but it will be interesting to see if the sound is still there after the thousands of dollars in repairs that have been poored into the vehicle...

It varies in tone a bit and is nearly impossible to describe. We've got to figure this out before we go insane.

Oh, I can't believe I didn't think to check the seatbelt muffler.
