I was able to cut my previous one off because the cross beam heads were shot, but when i tried to put the new Ypipe in, it didn't fit. i've got a new one coming in 3-5 days. Will i do any damage if i drive to work tomorrow? Besides destroying the ozone.

 

If you are running straight out of the headers with no exhaust pipes do not drive it. Besides being very loud when shut off it could cool down too quickly and damage valves and possibly other items. JMO D*

 

So, should i put the pipes back on, minus the cats, to give it something to hold the heat? i'm really in a bind here. lol.

 

I've run mine like that before. The manifolds alone are just too short, but if you've got some extra pipe you should be alright temporarily. How much pipe would you be able to put back?

 

i cut them below the cats, so i could cut them again right above the cats and put that much back on.

 

If the cats are good try to use them if possible. D*

 

Hell, even if they're not good just take a rod and hammer and punch out some of t he center. That will definitely give you enough length and you should be fine for 2-3 days.

 

HAHA, i just cut them above my clogged cats. At this point i'm about to find a craigslist welder to weld me some straight through pipes to my muffler and cancel my amazon order. lol i'm not in an emissions state.

 

If you do that what are you going to do about the O2 sensors and all the codes it's going to throw at you? Just askin'. D*

 

Oh, i'm not serious about that, i just mean that i've cut my crap y-pipe so much already and i'm regretting doing this job myself.
