I need your help
Hello everyone. I need your help. I have a 2001 Land Rover Dicso II. I just had the crankshaft sensor replaced but I still have and issue when the vehicle first starts up when the motor is cold. Previously the engine would cut off after a few mins of running and the diagnosis what the sensor. Like I said, I had it replaced and it seems to have taken care of that. However, when I start it up in the mornings, for the first half mile of so it gets really bogged down and wont accelerate. Have the half mile or so, it runs fine.
I took it to Advance auto here in Buena Vista and there were codes that said each cylinder was misfiring, the air/fuel mixture was too lean and the gear 3 ratio was incorrect. It doesn't seem to me that the transmission has anything wrong, but who knows. Basically, when I first start it it seems like it wants to backfire or its getting too much air some where.
When I had it inspected last year, the mechanic said it was the converter rattling around, but the guy at the muffler shop said it was only the heat shield that had come loose.
Also, the mechanic that replace the sensor yesterday said he didn't see a vacuum leak and it didn't seem like the plugs were not firing correctly and causing it to miss.
Any help you could provide would be awesome as I don't have $200 just to have the dealer hook it to a computer.
Thanks in advance.
Michael

Buena Vista FL?
You can go to 2 shops in Orlando:

You do not say what the codes were, that is the important part. You can buy a cheap ODBII scanner at HF and most auto shops and read and clear your own codes.
"gear 3 ratio was incorrect" could indicate a faulty MAF, if combined with other codes. Get the codes and post them.

I am certainly no expert... but It does sound like the MAF. I have had a few issues with that and the symptoms are similar. you might have a crack in the line or the sensor itself is going bad. You definetly need to get the codes...
Ok, found one on parts train, $127, do you think this will fix it? I took the Rover to Advance Auto, but their OBD-ii sensor is not working.
