Thumbs up I put Monroe shocks on my Disco....

At 91k my original shocks needed replacing - badly. I wasn't inclined to spend Big $ on O.M.E or similar shocks just yet so I bit on the Monroes at Sears with free installation. Actually, with my company discount I got them out-the-door for only $261 including installation.

The verdict? I feel I got my money's worth. The farm roads sure are smoother and I don't dread driving them anymore. I'm not kidding myself about the quality of these shocks but they are better than worn out stockers and will get the wife back and forth to work for a year or two until I get her a new suv.

Now, where's my reward for being as frugal as Spike.....

The downside? The "tech" (term used loosely) had to diconnect a coolant line to gain access to the right front shock and in doing so drained the coolant tank.... and didn't top it off!!! Got home and almost had a heart attack thinking my headgaskets went out again...

$261 including install is good! Most places will ballpark $90 per shock for install alone! Bummer 'bout the coolant hose though....
