Coil pack relocation kit installed and works perfectly. I cannot believe this wasn’t a factory placement.

They were placed in the back for protection purposes which works quite well IMHO. OEM location still isn't an issue for me (you shouldn't be messing with them that often) and then having to hunt down specific length wires vs being in a pinch and using stuff from any auto parts store. SAI equipped D2's or P38's does make it have a few more steps to gain access to, but delete the SAI studs for bolts will help greatly.

Totally. I agree they're well protected back there and the infrequency of needing to access them is overall pretty small - though so is a failed ignition wire I'd say as a counterpoint. I ended up getting the kit though because I'm trying to make repairs out in the field easier should one be needed. We road trip in these all the time, in addition to them being daily drivers. I have a spare coil pack in the tool kit, so it's a matter of swapping and being back on the road super quickly rather than lay up for a while to take everything apart. Also, yeah, I have SAI and that really is such a PITA layer to get through to access these too. I replaced the studs long ago, but the system is still a pain.

I did it with my last Disco and thought it was a great idea.
