How does this drive on the road compared to the 2" Terra kit?
Very similar ride, we actually took that D2 on the Coal Country Overland trip, did about 450 miles of trails and a 350 or so on the road getting there and back. It’s a very drivable setup that one of our staff members used as a daily for over a year.

While I have you here, What is the best bang for the buck setup for re-gear, hd axles, and locker (front and rear, or rear only?) for 33's that will spend 85 percent of the time on the road ( still good in snow) but be able to handle some challenging terrain on some weekend offroad adventures?

For the differentials, 85% on road and snow. The most daily life compatible set up for me would be Ashcroft ATB. The work so well with the Traction control system providing a seamless upgrade that makes a ton of difference off road. I know someone will say but a Detroit locker for the back is great bang for the buck and your right except in snow and ice conditions. I have watched them walk rigs sideways on the trail and road. So I am less enthusiastic about them for a 85% daily driver in all conditions. I feel the LSD offers a much better compromise for daily grind.

A bit more aggressive would be the Ashcroft ATB in the front and an Ashcroft Air Locker in the back or ARB both are good quality products but I lean more towards the Ashcroft it also saves $50 over the ARB. Keep in mind you will need to plumb the Air Locker and add an air compressor as well. For the but a Detroit bang for the buck see above

I would pair those with the either the 3.75 or 4.12 gears. Both would work with 33’s but personally I would get the 4.12’s as I find a lot of folks that start at 33” end up at 35” a year or two later. I just posted links to the rear gear but we have front available as well.

I'd take a good look at the RTE kit, beefier components and I'm not a huge fan of Terrafirma shocks. I'm running 285s which is pretty damn close to a 33 and pending tire choice actually will measure that. 32s on a stock suspension will rub/hit fenders once flexed. Call me crazy but until I start roasting axles I'm not going to drop the coin to upgrade something that hasn't failed. Just go easy on the skinny pedal and most of those breaks can be avoided.
