Idead for a new HD front bumper
Is it possible to fabricate a heavy duty front bumper complete with recovery points and winch compatible, that looks like the factory genuine 03/04 style bumper? Round off the edges, insert the factory fog lights and make some kind of clips on each end of the bumper where you can fit on those plastic colored end caps.
I just dont like the look of those aftermarket front bumpers you guys put on. Yes they look beefy and all but in my opinion the factory bumper looks the best. And Im wondering the same thing about the rear bumper. Just fabricate a HD bumper that looks just like the factory.
Just a thought Ive been pondering for awhile. Anyways who would I seek out if I had the $$$$ to get this idea fabricated?

Anything is possible with a good fabricator and enough time and money. I think the rounded edges are probably going to be the hardest part. Most aftermarket steel bumpers are made from plate. The ARB has some folded edges, but most of it is still flat, until you get to the folds.
You might look for some photos of an ARB or other bumper that has been painted body color to match the truck, maybe that would look ok for you? I thought about having mine painted before installing it, but then I got cheap and installed it black.

Actually there was a guy a few months ago that had a local guy make his HD bumper. It was a white 03/04 DII, I forget the thread title. The bumper looks pretty sweet and it looked like it had room for recovery points and a winch. I actually suggested he paint it like the stock bumper. With the body color on the sides, black in the middle. Would look pretty sick imo. It wouldn't take long to find in a thread search.
He wants it to look like the factory plastic bumper. No matter how you paint that one,it wont look oem.It could be done by a good fabricator but at what cost?I like ARB and TJM but can't afford either one

That's the problem... they make them out of reach for most of use regular Joes... Check out my thread... if you like what you see shoot me a PM and we'll talk. Im not saying Im the best fabricator or I got the solution but Im willing to help some guys out that trail their rig and don't wanna smash up there plastic OEM crap. If your serious about getting bumpers... I sold mine on Flea Bay and made money... find someone your comfortable with and come up with a design. I have a CAD program that might help us out. Im just getting into these though so Im still learning. But for anyone interested Im here to help. Jason
I think the terrafirma HD bumpers look great if you are looking at a close to factory look. If you look on the RN website for the front bumper, the truck in the example pictures has one painted gloss black to match the truck. looks nice.
