Default Idle adjust

Is there a way to bring up my idle a few hundred rpms? Will the computer just pull it back down? Thanks in advance

Step on the accelerator...
The electronics control the idle speed. Why do you ask?

I have a tick that goes away at 1k. So I want to raise it up to that point so I dont hear it anymore....I know thats not a fix but I figure I will just run the thing until it blows then replace the motor. So there is no way to bring it up to 1k?

Turn up the radio...
You cannot adjust the idle, it's not as simple as that. I had a tick at idle and put in thicker oil and it went away.

That is by far the stupidest excuse I have ever heard to raise your RPM's, I Mean Stupid.
The noise you are hearing is a wear noise on the valve train, how long do you plan on driving it, till it fails?/Since you don't have any mechanical smarts, and if you plan on keeping the Disco, then get it to a mechanic who can find the cause of the noise and fix it.

Mike I plain to drive it until it dies. There are endless threads on this forum of guys spending huge amounts of money to try to fix the ticking and have failed...I wasted $650 on a new oil pump already to try and fix it... Im not getting sucked into it could be this or that. When it blows I will replace it and im good with that. In fact if you add in head gasket and what ever to TRY to fix the ticking I would bet thats 3k right there on a old engine....No thanks!
