If pulling that intake manifold off was a b!tch and a half...
...then putting it on was easy as pie. I got the fuel injector I purchased online, and just as a matter of course, I switched it with the #2 injector. I got the fuel rail put back on, and since the sun was still up, I put the intake manifold put back on. Easy as hell. I mean, I fought tooth and nail to get that manifold off, and it just sort of fell into place putting it back on. I got it all tightened down, and am just waiting for the silicone to cure. We shall see if I did everything correctly tomorrow. We shall also see if I fixed my misfire...
Well, finished it up. Still have a misfire. Dammit. I just got inside, I haven't seen the codes yet, but I suspect it's still the open injector circuit code on the #8 cylinder. I'll pull 'em and let you guys know...
So you had a misfire on #8? And you moved the #8 injector to the #2 cylinder? Then you swapped the injector in #2 with one you bought but still have a misfire on #8?
I don't remember the details of your problem that's why I am asking so many questions. Sounds to me that if your problem didn't follow the fuel injector you need to dive in the wiring harness and look for broken or burnt wires. I would think the problem is somewhere in the wiring between the injector and where the wires for that cylinder split from the main harness.
