Default Ignition Interlock Device

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately, I am required by my WA state law to get an ignition interlock device installed into my Disco II.

Has anyone here been through that? or heard of someone going through it.

Any ill effects from it being installed?

Any feedback would be great. I know they have to snip the ignition to install the device.

Thanks!

Years ago my son had to have one installed for 1 year. I know it was expensive, seems like there was monthly fees. No ill effects it just disable the ignition if values are not met.

Some switch in a hidden place disabling ignition should suffice. Interesting how insurance companies want to make sure they will always collect your money without risking their pockets... Collect, collect, collect, never have to pay for your stolen insured vehicle. Crooks. They have not ordered you to keep a fire extinguisher on board yet ? Reverse insurance. They are the insured to never have to pay for your vehicle being stolen ...with your money.

Given that this thread is seven years old, it's definitely not new.

I don't know why jodisim decided to reply to this old thread a couple days ago, but FWIW an ignition interlock device is a "breathalyzer" sometimes required by a court for those who have been convicted of a DUI/DWI. I don't think it has anything to do with insurance.
