Default Ignition switch

so today I was cranking up the disco and the key decided to keep turning circles.

i eventually was able to start vehicle but could not turn off vehicle. I ended up haveing to dismantle the ignition switch. All kinds of stuff came out...lol. I was able to put it back together but have the piece below left over.
It seems the spring at the front end may be causing problem. After many attempts of trying to put the ignition together was able to and even able to finally turn off vehicle with the key.
i continue to have the same issue of not being able to turn it off without adjusting the spring.
i also have the piece below left over and not quite sure where it came from.
the ignition was never dismounted from the steering column I was able to keep it intact without have to disconnect.
thanks for the help.... AGAIN.
