Darover, its his fuel pump. The PO was a hack mechanic and screwed it up big time.

Yes, it was the fuel pump. It's at the shop right now. Somewhere along the way someone replaced the original pump with an aftermarket pump (only). Upon inspection, the entire job but me and every other passenger in my car at serious risk of bodily harm and possibly death.

I was under the assumption that these cars could be rebuilt in a desert/jungle/frozen tundra. I can't even fix mine in my garage with just about every tool I could ever need and the right parts.

I mean, I enjoy working on cars. I like to see how they work. But, I can't stand working on this Rover. What I hate even more is having to pay someone to do a job I should personally be able to do. I also hate having to order every part so I'm not gouged by a dealership.

This truck has been loved and cared for by me. I loathe the fact that I have put so much time and care into this truck and I am throwing in the towel. I have coveted Disco's since I was in high school.

I may revisit Rovers later in life, but I don't trust any of them to keep me going :: especially since my job depends on it.

So, if anyone in the Memphis area is interested in an 03 with all sorts of new goodies, etc. let me know. I'll make you a deal on it.

I dont know what to say other than that sucks.
DI's are easier to work on, DII's ride better and have more room.
Sounds like you got a bad one. If you wanted to try again I would get a DI and keep it as a weekend toy, fix it up and fall in love with the brand all over again.

The Disco I's only.
Disco II's under BMW got away from the fix anywhere.
