Nice truck. No frills, 'does what it says on the tin' - Defenders are the DB's for all weather.

and I was referring more to flash floods, trees ripping from the grounds kinda storms.... In New Hampshire we are protected from most sever weather systems by all the mountains and plus we only have a tab pinch of coastline. Grant we can still get floods, but they are rare. Most of the time all we have to worry about is black ice and poor visibility during snow storms.

The D2 wipers Im using have been working alright for awhile now actually, though it seems to me that when you first install them they need to be "broken in" before they start cleaning the windshield like they were intended. The most recent problem was just the nuts coming lose shortly after installing the winter wiper blades. OOOH which reminds me.... HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE? Jeee I gotta upload a pic of my winter wiper blades tomorrow hehe So ugly, so bulky and likly to catch some air while your driving down the highway! lol
I know I lived there for 3 years, and honestly the roads are better there even during the worst nor-easter than they are in the midwest normally.

France, they are good at what they do

Default AB Winter Wiper Blades

So since most of you probably convert to D1 wiper blades, your probably not familiar with these D2 wiper blades sold by Atlantic British.......

I think they are most ugly and when I first took them out of the packaging I was like WTF! Had a hard time installing them to hints the whole dispute with my wiper arms messing up recently. Of course the wiper were not working during our most recent snow storm so cant tell how well they work yet..........

Triar11, they've got to be the ugliest wiper concoction I've ever seen. What is the perceived advantage of them? Why don't you use the standard wipers with aerofoil section spoilers, there may be a good reason for that I don't know. If it's overnight freezing just lift them off the screen.

Julian, does your Discovery have the cold weather package with a heated windscreen?

Im pretty sure they increase force on the glass due to the arm to siting higher and thus engaging the spring more.

"Holy lifted lightening rods, Batman" is that a set of windscreen spoilers?

pretty sure those were the follow up invention to this.......

joking aside, they are definitely ugly sticks, but that design looks to attack the low pressure issue. hope they work out. let us know.

OffroadFrance: Yes they are ugly as sin. I ordered them from AB while I was still up in Alaska. Never got around to looking them over until the other day when I took them out of the packaging and installed them. I admit I was a bit terrified when I first glazed my eyes on them...... Not exactly sure the advantages. I noted that on the highway at high speeds the wind can somehow lift up the wipers and move them around! All the more reason to ensure your wiper arm nuts are very tight! But I also noticed that they do a good job at pushing heavy loads of snow off your windshield. Not sure if that was the intent but because of their design they have a "shoveling effect".

Jafir: Yes I have the cold climate package with heated seats, heated front and rear windshield and engine block heater. They work great!

Dusty1: despite the ugliness they appear to work great. I had an issue right after I installed them but it turned out the dam wiper arm nuts (both of them) came real lose causing both wipers to get in a fist fight while I was driving! Next time we get a snow storm I will make a video clip of them in action!

They were a bit expensive though..........

TRIAR11, if they work well that's great. Regards lifting at speed, can you not fit a spoiler to them similar to the standard drivers wiper which will help keep them stuck down to the screen.

I'm not sure but i doubt it. Maybe they were able to lift off the windshield due to the wiper arm nuts being loose. I have since tightened them and have not noticed any more lift. Now when I first got my D2 I noticed that the front drivers side wiper had a long piece of plastic attached to it, looked like a spoiler of some type. It was being held on with electric tape though. Both wiper arms/wipers were shot so I removed them all and replaced with new arms and blades. In fact even the rear wiper arm and blade are new. The winter blades I got are such an strange shape I dont think there is anything you can add to them unless you got creative in your garage or something.
