Cool I'm looking for a private LR mech. in AZ.

I'm looking for an independent LR shop or mechanic to do some things for me. I've been in the garage every night for a few weeks and will continue for another few weeks getting my 2000 disco back in order. I have recently done the alternator, front drive shaft, rotors and pads, underdash fuse panel, and more. I would like to go to Moab for a week to do some trails and camp with my family in a couple months and I feel like i need a few things handled first. I would like water pump, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, front and rear main, belt, plugs?, radiator hoses, a/c recharge, and brake fluid replaced. It has 111,000 miles on it, and at about 90k it had a major service done at the dealership but it was quite costly. Now that I have lost my job of 9 years I am looking for a cheaper alternative. I also need a headliner quite badly if anyone knows someone near me who can do that. It also looks like something I do not want to tackle myself as well as the rear side glass outer seals. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

What part of Arizona? It's not that big of a state but when your talking about finding a mechanic you don't want to have to drive, or have the vehicle towed, to the other side of the state. Contact Arizona Land Rover Owners (www.azlro.org). That's the LR club down there and they may be able to point you in the right direction.

There's an indy mechanic in Flagstaff, but quoted me an outrageous amount for work to be done. The name of the shop escapes me at the moment, but for the rate he charged, you might as well tow it to the dealer in Scottsdale.

I've got my Disco in the shop in Sedona...works on Range Rovers...Red Rock Precision. Very cool guys.

Otherwise, I would have taken it to Rover Techs in Scottsdale. They were reasonable with my estimate. Just glad I didn't have to tow Irma down there...

There is a european specialty shop in SE phoenix area (not sure if it was Mesa, Chandler, or Gilbert)that I heard good things about, first found there ad on craigslist and asked my mechanics about them and they said they had heard good things (my mechanics are pretty good but not LR specialists, and I would not recommend them as they are primarily a tranny shop that occasionaly will do other things for me when I need it,since I used to do alot of electronics work for them at the shop next door) but craigslist may be a good place to check out.
