I'm glad you got it all sorted out! And thanks for posting how to fix it as well. That will save me a ton of time when I finally get home and can fix it myself.

Had you not done the same setup there's no telling how long it'd take me to narrow it back down to the seat warmer switches, I've already ordered the expensive headlight switch to try first. Guess I get to send that overpriced dude back!

+1 So often, people forget to come back and let us know how they fixed things. It's REALLY helpful to get to the end of a thread and have a resolution. Even better, if the OP places a link to the post that includes the fix into the first post so we don't have to read through 1000's of posts to find it.

I edited the first post to get to the solution of the problem. I'm not sure how to post a link to a specific post #. I'd be glad to do it if you let me know how. Sorry I am still new to this forum, or any forum for that matter. I have pictures also but still don't know how to do that, or post pictures in my profile. any help would be great. thanx

If you connected the Red/Brown trace wire to earth, then you created a short circuit on the dash illumination circuit.

The heated seat switches are wired, as follows -

Pin 1 - Live from fuse F15 (Light Green/White trace)

Pin 2 - Live from dash illumination (Red/Brown trace)

Pin 3 - Not used (but is connected internally to Pin 5, Earth)

Pin 4 - Switched live out to seat heating pads (RH seat - Blue/Pink trace / LH seat - Blue/Grey trace)

Pin 5 - Earth (Black)

.
