Default Installed some driving lights

After finding my Disco was setup for Aux driving light s following the BC standard (they only come on if the High beams are on). It was time to add lights.

I decided to go with the License plate light holder, there are a couple of issue with these on the stock as the license place holder is plastic. Not ideal for heavier lights, my solution is to add 3 braces, currently 1 installed. In the image below you can see the brace and the 2 Aurora 3w LED floodlights in test mod and the temp brace. In the end the braces will actually hold the bracket in place but I need to get my lighting sorted 1st.

Inside view, I will need to add a couple of more holes to support the inside.

Luck was with me and the connector on the lights was a standard connector, 5 minutes and some crimp on connector and I made up a Y harness that go the pods working. Next up was a spotlight, I went with a 7 inch LED spot /flood combo light, it has a bunch of other features but I need to tap into the Daytime running lights to activate those.
Here it is with all the lights mounted, I intend for the pods to be angled to the sides a bit to light the road edge.

And of course lit up

Parts list

Interesting to hear about your car being “wired” for driving lights. I know the law is similar here in Washington, your aux driving lights can only be on with your high beams on.

@greisinb I suspect the previous owner had an aftermarket bumper or bullbar and pulled it before selling. But the harness seems to LR, maybe the original LR bullbar.
